I just came home from my first shoot since getting the camera.
I was DP and Steadicam op and we mainly shot 3k 53 fps on a LWZ-1 Lightweight T2.6 zoom. Generally a very good experience:biggrin:

Update: 720p master here: http://www.holckowen.com/opeth720.mov

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Good shooting and best regards,

Director/Cinematographer

Wonderful, I have been waiting for some dramatic material like this to arrive, good examples for this kind of lighting and DRAMA! Love it...

cheers

So what will your post process be???
I have looked at the post re: workflow
and it seems (please correct me if I am wrong)
You can edit direct with the QT proxie files
and then use something like Crimson
to conform at the end thus you are only
rendering the finished show and not all the raw
footage??
I have some agencies asking the same thing...
Thanks

Why 53 fps? Some light flickering issue? More clearly: why not just 50 or 55?

On my Red with a reddrive 3k 2:1 tops out at 53 fps. Why shoot 50 when you can shoot 53? :-)
We used flicker free HMI and Kinoflo so no flicker issues at odd speeds.

Im not cutting this and the director uses a PPC based MAC so unfortunately I do need to convert these. The 200 hrs are just processing 1/2 res medium to DVCPRO 1080 QT's. Think there is a threading problem with the app and my system. I generally got much higher performace in my earlier conversion tests.

I have my own app for matchback to Redcine so thats no problem otherwise crimson is a great tool.

Hi Anders,
really great stills!! congrats!!!!!
would love to see some clips!
just wondering, only 53fps at 3K? I thought it could do 60fps at 3K??

Great stuff Anders!

Can't wait to see some of the steadicam shots. But it look like I'll have to - wow 200 hours to process 1/2 res medium? How many hours are you converting?

Processing/Storage of footage for little indie guys is going to be an eye opener. And possibly a deal killer for some people who'd like to hire a RED.

I think I'd make the the guy buy a new Mac!
