Not sure where to post this...
I was just playing around today (first day off in a while) and checking out Build 15. THANK YOU RED for the multiple outputs. I do wish that one was "clean" so I could hook it up to a DVCPro HD deck for those really persnickety clients...
Anyway, I'm lovin' the highspeed. I did have a BUNCH of dropped frames though with a CF card. Shot 113 fps, 1/1000th, Redcode 28, 2K 2:1. Using the latest 15.2.1.7. Seemed to happen with a whip pan. Is it possible that this overwhelms the processor in the camera, like a scene with uber high detail? Maybe because 113 fps is really close to the ragged edge of card performance? I put in a different card and slowed down to 96 fps and all was well.
I will say that I could not produce skew at 2K no matter how fast I panned the camera or how skinny the shutter was. I know it's generally better at 2K, so I'll try later at 4K. I guess there was an improvement in the read/reset time?
I also notice that in 2K specular light in the shot takes on a slightly diffused look, rendering "bloomier" than at 4K (highlights on water etc.) Is this a windowed sensor/ OLPF thing? I could slush back to 13 and see if it was always there...
Comments? Anyone have issues or raves about Build 15?
Cheers,
Harry
edit: I did finally manage to produce a TINY amount of skew in 2K, but it really is almost not there at all...
