Angenieux will introduce Optimo lenses for the red.
I just spoke with angenieux, here are the basic specifications:

Its called Optimo Rouge
no ramping or breathing,
30-80mm,
T:2.8,
calibrated focus marks,

lightweight compact PL mount lens,
weight 4.2 lbs/1.9 kg.

http://www.angenieux.com/index.php?rub=48&art=142

interesting facts:
- will be shown and presented at NAB
- price set to match reds offer (wow). I quote: "we intend to offer the price/performance red has". It will cost more than reds zooms, but "not to much".
- delivery if orderer now ~5-7 months. This is pretty fast, many angenieux lenses take a good year.
- Angenieux introduces this series especially for digital cinematography, and the characteristics are designed with that in mind
- exact details at NAB

We use and offer many types angenieux lenses (7.8*26, 5.3*10, 25*10, 9.5 etc) and are very happy customers of their excellent glass.

Its a very pleasant surprise that now already one of the 3 european specialists (cooke/angenieux/zeiss(arri)) took the challenge.

Cooke RED set

Cooke RED set

Sorry but it's 2 of the 3 european specialist....
don't forget the Cooke RED set!
I know it's not a new product designed for RED but they took the price challenge!
It looks like they sell the whole set for the price of the 3 primes, not cheap lens but... I never meet a DP who don't like those old england glasses!
I can't wait to see them in action.

Ciao.

Hi,

i thought that the cooke set price (~100.000?) was no different and the only design change was the red ring?
the angenieux lenses are designed for single sensor digital cameras and have a, for angenieux, really new price level.

but for me, we can count cooke in, as they also already offered the i/mode. however, i think their pricing is still not the new red level.

Correct. The Cooke S4/i RED set of lenses, these include the 15-40mm zoom, 50mm,75mm & 100mm cost is UK£48,900 and is supplied with a front protective glass for the CXX and a Hard carrying case. All prices are ex work, ex VAT.

Cooke Price List

Cooke Price List

My reseller in Madrid quote me it around 75.000€.
I found a Cooke Price List here
so

50mm, T2 $ 16,250
75mm, T2 $ 16,750
100mm, T2 $ 16,750
Cooke S4/i 15-40mm T2 CXX Zoom $ 47,500
Clear Cover Glass $ 1,250

Total in $ $97.500
In € today 62,900€

I've to call my reseller.... but with the currency market in this way it's impossible to know....

Dukeswharf you quicker... 48,900GBP today means 61,980€... I still have to call my reseller....

while i like cooke optics quite a bit, we might rather be interested in getting an elite T1.3 set and an angenieux optimo rouge zoom instead of cookes offering.

however, we will stay in the wait and see mode for some months anyhow, there is simply so much going on - PS´s universal mount looks really interesting, the elite group deal is tempting, we will find out how much acceptance of excellent photolenses will find, red will introduce its primeset... the guys at red really have unleashed an typhoon in the formerly quite slow industry :)

or I can just order them in UK, no € but Europe so no import tax and no VAT if buy it as a Spain company!
Thanks Uzo,
Carlo

You could pay for used Angenieux f. Canon FD 35-70/2,5-3,3 Zoom EUR 590,00.

angenieux announces and advertises with: no ramping or breathing
i suppose that makes all speculations of modified photolenses void.

i called them today...a women couldnt talk english...then an answering machine
in eglish was connected.

if you need germanspeaking or englishspeaking assistance, you have to tell them. default language is french.

I've tried to contact them since last week, with no joy! Anyone know what their current European prices are for the Optimo 15-40mm T2.6, 28-76mm T2.6 and 24-290mm T2.8?

i spoke with them two times today: + 33.(0)4 77.90.78.00
i dont know their exact actual list prices, the 7.8-208F2.2 we have was (with all options (ss, digital, extender) upper 30s, the 5.3-53F2 was upper twenties (again with all options), but these are 2/3. for red i would also rather consider the ones you listed, the rouge and the classic 25-250.
