Looking forward to your thoughts / feedback.

Hello all. Just finished another weekend of shooting with X87. One day was devoted to a spec spot for green energy.

The concept: the breath of a little girl (who can't get the lights in her dollhouse to come on) becomes a wind which travels from her home to the countryside where it powers those huge wind turbines and, of course, brings power to her dollhouse.

STILLS HERE: http://web.mac.com/stewarthendler/iWeb/Dollhouse/Stills.html

We're shooting the rest of it next weekend, so I'll keep you posted and upload the roughcut when it's done.

ps: This camera rocks!

Seems blown out. These CMOS sensors have a very difficult time at this time of day.

From what I and many others have found the camera exibits around 8-9 stops of DR. These frames support that or worse.

I think this is a post related look.

I'm not saying it's bad, that is strictly authors creative choice, but you can get more DR if you want to.

The cam can go much further than that.

(forgot the author's name,sorry)

Don't worry, both were intentionally blown out in redcine—aesthetic preference. I tend to do the same when shooting film. We also shot with that look in mind—no Polarizer, exposing for the midtones, etc. The latitude you need to get whatever look you want is there.

Attached is an ungraded frame.

The range is there. I gave the frame a fast try.

Yeah. And that's just off the JPEG.

Also, bear in mind that if you really wanted to hold the sky you'd shoot it differently.

Does RED have the same latitude as Vision 3 stocks? No, but it's got a plenty to get any look you want if you know what you're going for.

I wish I was making commercials like this.
FANTASTIC.

My nitpicky things:
This is probably just temp but the music fade in was a little rough for me.
I wanted to see another second of the smile at the end.

So why don't you make commercials like this, You have a camera, you have a eye. You have an imagination.

Great ad's like this can be made for bugger all. (minus the aerial shots).

I thought the cut was perfect.
