Can I re-frame in RedCine?

If I've shot something 2:1, and I want to output 16:9, can I move the picture around within the 16:9 guides so as to re-frame the image?

Maybe you can't do this within RedCine yet. But I thought I'd heard about people doing it.

When I drag the picture around in RedCine, the whole thing moves, guides and all. And so it's not re-positioning the image within the guides.

How are you doing it?

Yes, Sean. Actually you can re-frame a shot in RedCine. You must be dumb or something.

What you do is you select the SHOT menu, then use the X offset and Y offset. As long as you haven't forced the shot to fit height or width, you can use the offset numbers to reframe the shot.

Hey Sean, would you ask Sean if he knows how I might begin with a 4K shot, and crop to around 3K and use that area to downsample to my final 2K for editing? That Sean guy seems to be able to figure stuff out.
