It appears in the build 14 literature that it is not yet possible to output to both the lct and efv at once. this seems pretty necessary in a assistend environment. Could this be overcome with some sort of Y cable? Is this capability planned for version____

Hey TJ long time no hear.
I haven't received my EVF yet (hint, hint) but I think that that is the only way to have simultanious output at this time. I may be wrong about that but I think that is the case, Maybe one of those lucky folks with an EVF can chime in here.

Yo POoi Hawaii sunshine gettin to ya???

In the book on release 14 they allow a choice of LCD or EVF
there does not seem to be a menu choice that allows both?
YOu can see the EVF or LCD and the HDMI at once appearantly, but the Asst. has no monitor???

Hey TJ, good to see you on again.

Build 15 will support multiple outputs for EVF, LCD, and HD-SDI.

This has been stated to be released some time in early March.

Looking forward to it.

The issue is that they are different resolutions. The EVF is 1280x848 and the LCD is 1024x600. Accordingly, the camera has to scale the image not once but twice... and pump that image to two monitors without any image lag at all. Apparently it's quite a tall order, but should be rocking in build 15.

That's why they should have relied on the device to scale the image.... make one image 1280x848 on two outputs and then make the LCD itself scale down to 1024x600.... but I guess it's kind of too late now, seeing as how they've already shipped some LCDs.

Right now, using Build 14, you can mount both the EVF and LCD, and toggle between the two, for instance if you're alternating between high/low level shots using the LCD, and shots where you can get your eye to the EVF, or if you want to give someone else close-by a peek at framing or practice of a shot, but then you toggle it back to one or the other to do the shot

As mentioned, in Build 15 we should have a choice of simultaneous output to both the EVF and LCD, or toggle to selective output on one or the other.

EVF and HDMI are both 1280x848, so no additional scaling necessary.

Thanks for confirming Barry, for a while there I thought maybe I had gotten too much sun.
