I like Aqua's idea also. And if you want some really really cheap glass, make a mount for one of those now unused lens types, like Konica AR. You could have a set of fast primes for something like $100 alltogether. Only problem is you'd be limited at 21mm on the wide end.

Another interesting dumb mount to make would be a Pentax K mount for which there are many very nice primes (and zooms) available, both old and new.

The possibilities are endless really.

Yeah. . . two months. . . but I think that a lot of that lag is due to the fact that I'm way down there near #800. . . and there a lot of people way ahead of me.

It seems that shipments might start as soon as ONE month, but, again, I'm MUCH further down the list than that.

But that's what I heard tonight. Perhaps it was pessimistic, but I wasn't thrilled to hear about it.

Stephen, In all seriousness, try to barter some time with someone that has PL lenses - a rental house, a camera owner, etc. RED is still new enough that you should be able to get some interest in letting them try the camera if you can try their lenses.
