I was wondering if you prefer using Legacy video profile of Dragoncolor2 and Dragongamma4 or do you choose to set the setting to redwidegamutrgb and log3g10. Because so far i have been converting footage to IPP2 in Resolve. I have seen that there are many contrast looks available on red webside for ipp2 pipeline so that's another question which lut for monitor on the camera for IPP2. I hope it's not too confusing!

It’s best to use ipp2 even for your dragon footage as the pipeline renders better details, color and extended highlight latitude. In terms of monitoring lut, the Raptor and Komodo default to medium contrast, soft highlight, but the Gemini defaulted to medium contrast, medium roll-off, I’d choose either one of them.

Thanks for fast reply! Red dragon seems to have older settings than newer camera.. am i doing this right and where does it have option for monitor luts i already have them on mini mag? Thanks !

What i meant is that i set the gamma and color space to ipp2 but the image is very flat even on graded video profile..

Sorry about that Jaka. I'm not really familiar with how IPP2 should work with DSMC 1 cameras.

I have a feeling they added IPP2 system but without option to monitor it on RED monitor, because it doesnt have function for 3D luts..

Jaka,

If you use an external monitor with 3DLut capabilities, you could probably upload the RED IPP2 Transform Lut or a Creative IPP2 Lut/ Transform Lut Combo to the monitor and if the DSMC 1 camera allows you to feed out a REDWIDEGAMUTRGB/LOG3G10 signal that could probably achieve what you may be trying to do.

That is correct and afraid it's the only option ! I was just wondering if it could work on RED monitor. Thank you for the help!
