Well, it saddens me to post this.
I am going to shop my BT Scarlet around.
My only problem is how much to let it go for.
Since I have a Dragon 6K, I will not be adding extra parts to sweeten the deal.
It took me almost 10 years to gather the parts I have and they all work for my Dragon.
I've had offers but I am on the fence about letting go of this baby :(
And of course, putting this in a glass case would do no justice.
This camera to date still shoots wonderful frames.
It has 859 hours and counting :)
It will be the body and EF mount and a ViewFactor Top Plate.
If anyone wants to chime in on this much appreciated.

And to make it more interesting, please share your thoughts about your experience gathering parts for the RED Eco :)

I still have mine and for me at least, letting it go would be a mistake. It still makes .r3ds and those make great pictures. On paper it is essentially worthless, but in reality quite valuable. You can make great pictures with it and until mine stops ticking it will live along side my Komodo and Monstro.

Agreed with the great pictures, however, I am getting decent offers for it.
If I didn't have this Dragon 6K, I would def be hanging on to my Scarlet.
Just not financially feasible to have two cameras of late :(

COVID and other issues have kept me from shooting much of anything (and coincidentally off this board) for a many months. I, too, have a Scarlet Dragon that I am thinking of selling. I do have a somewhat interested party but have no clue as to what the market is. I am up for giving him a good deal so I neither want to quote him an unfairly high price, nor do I want to "give it away." Any comments or thoughts on the value of a very complete package would be appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Meant to say I AM thinking of selling!!! (corrected now). Talk about a typo!!! lol

Same boat Terry just different waters.
In my case, I am doing my best to steer the buyers from the support gear.
I spent almost 10 years gathering all this and most of it work for my (used) new Dragon.
It's not like they are lowballing me it's just how do you put a price on something that you would need to hunt down again?
Some of these items are hard to find of late :(

The market value for this camera is so low I think you should keep it. Perhaps you'll need a crash cam, or your current camera needs service and you have a free capable backup.

That was the original when I picked up the Dragon.
It's getting harder to keep it when work is a total dead end where I am.
I get more work doing post and having all this camera gear sitting collecting dust irks me.
I guess if all the deals fall through, I cant complain knowing this baby has paid itself off over the years :)

If you've got no use for it, you should find a local film program that needs gear. Would be a great camera for film students to learn on!

Even better IMHO: loan it at no charge to a zero budget production that would really appreciate a slightly nicer camera. Those are the kinds of people I'd want to support the most.

Actually, the better part of my Scarlets use was mostly for indies with next to nothing budgets. In exchange for a lot of things from crew, gear, space, talent, etc...

I have thought about donating but I still need to keep myself afloat in these trying times.

I am never going to make what I spent on this baby and honestly, what I did get out of it is priceless :)
