  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

***LIGHTS GROUP BUY 35% OFF NO TAXES to you***

If you can beat B&H for total cost (items plus shipping) I'd be super impressed and would want to know! Case in point: I can get four complete Matthews sliding leg C-stand kits (with arms and grips) for $650, that's under $165 a piece including shipping! It's crazy that B&H can ship them to me for that total price from NY for less than what anyone else will ship them to me from LA, and I'm in Oregon!

Unfortunately for Matthews (MSE) they can not be included in this discount group buy as B&H (their dealer) offers 20% off their catalog pricing and they must not sale at a lower price as to Legal manners.

I try, but I understand this and will continue to buy from B&H as I believe they still have the best prices around.

Hey Ketch

Thanks for the update on Matthews. I guess B&H will (once again) get my hard-earned money this christmass $$ :bye2: $$. By the way, I also have purchased tons of stuff through them and usually don't have a problem. But I have learned these few rules with B&H:

*******************

1. If you want Service... buy from Abel Cine. But if you wan't the cheapest prices... buy from B&H.

2. If you do buy from B&H... you better know your sh*t. They have the best web site around for specs and product info, so there is no excuse not knowing your sh*t. No one there has the time to 'educate' you (Abel Cine does have the time).

3. NEVER, NEVER buy from their Used department. The money you'll save is not worth the hasle you will go through when you find out that something is a bit off from what you expected (grey market HVX200 when you thought it was an american model, crushed dolly when described as "like new"... etc).

4. And finally: Realize that, no matter how much you buy from them, you will never become a 'special' client or develop one of those 'on-a-first-name-basis' relationships... (just get used to it, it's a cruel, cruel world out there)... If you need 'recognition' or a 'pat on the back' for being 'in-the-biz', furgetabutit... go somewhere else where they'll charge you extra for this.

My pleasure guys, sorry Matthews can not go lower then B&H, corporate legal laws, I still like ED and Robert there, this guys are just great fellows.

Also I spoked with Lance at American grip, and He told me that 35% off could only be applied to the people that go at the manufacturer directly, no discount can be apply at this time for shipping orders.

But I will continue to try and let you guys in all my deals.

Hi Ketch,

Thanks a lot for all your efforts, we understand how painfully it is to negotiate and organize such discounts.

One request, did you ever come across&made deal with any dealers that sell lens. As many of us are looking for Nikon/Canon glass, would it be possible for you to negotiate as groups buys?

Thanks,
Siva

This, as I'm a canon photographer, was one of the first things I try to make a deal for, unfortunately till now no answer was returned as positive as Canon just like was for Matthews sale to dealers and by Law they can not beat their prices.

But for those companies that do not have direct contracts with dealers then I will get substantial discounts, such as with LED-Z and Cinemills/Filmgear,
American Grip told me that they will extend 35% discount only to those that go directly at their manufacturer location no shipping orders will get discounts, at list not till further notice.

I try to make the companies I speak with aware of the true buying power that is the REDUSER community, all lissen and understand, some help some don't want to and some want to but can't.

At times I fill bad when huge discounts are only made available to my company alone, I almost fill like I'm cheating this community, but I will continue in trying and get as many deals as I can.

Also it is important that every one here is given the possibility to get in the deals and this is the reason why they have to agree on giving unlimited time as not every one is getting their cameras at the same time.

Hey, that's actually pretty good deal. All you have to do is fly in, rent a truck, and ship the stuff yourself. You'd still save a lot this way.

This is actually very interesting. Let’s say one is interested in a complete circular dolly track set. Would this purchase by itself warrant a trip out to Cali? Anyone care to check my math?
