Our engineers have figured out how to dramatically improve cold weather performance. We are now booting successfully at -20C in the lab. This improvement requires a slight board modification, so all cameras will be delayed about a week to push this through production.

The good news is the community brought it to our attention, we found it, and are fixing it time before we ship all cameras out the door.

Happy Holidays...

Jim

Any idea on when the next batch will ship? They are delayed a week, but we don't know when they were scheduled to go out.

Thanks.

You guys are bad ass.

jesus christ Jim! Thanks!

You said in an earlier thread that bootup times would also be dramatically better after fixing the cold issue.. Any news about that?

You're my hero. :w00t:

Thanks Jim from the PS production Services Canada team in the great white north.

Happy Holidays to all and their families.

The RED Crusader strikes again!

I'm calling my client and to tell him the snowmobile test shoot is on again.

Soon as I get those cameras... :)

End of year please?!!! Means about $8500 to me.

Jim: Thanks, but year end has substantial tax impact for a lot of us. At least $4000 in tax savings for me, not to mention I have a $4500 rental for January 10th that will go away if I can't commit soon.

I'm sure that most of the other 200 would see a $4K to $8K savings as well.

200 cameras at say $5K each would be a million dollars in tax savings to the early res holders.

Well we don't even know yet what the previous ship dates were. I'd rather have a fixed camera and wait rather than an inferior camera now

Great news

1 big question. Is -20c the coldest you were able to get the lab down to to test or was colder then -20c the failing point of a cold camera booting?

I do not mean for this to sound negative because -20c is very good news it is just very valuable information to know the approx limit of a cold boot.
