  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Mini BNC Breakout Panel

What are you breaking the signal to rocketeer,
is it just to regular size bnc

High-quality, regular-sized BNC connectors pointing towards the rear of the camera. Headphone jack is now positioned on the front of the box.

looks very nice! Are the BNCs now the first thing that hits the deck if the camera is placed on the ground with lens facing skywards? Apparently that's something that people do sometimes with rental gear... Probably a good thing if so; at least they're replaceable separate from the camera.

Not something I would recommend doing with cameras 1-50 as you would be putting the weight of the camera on the menu joystick. Not sure if this has changed with 51+. With the panel the BNC's do come slightly past the joystick.

Also, with right angle BNC adapters, you can get even more flexibility and room to work near the control panel. These are also made in other forms, such as XLR, HDMI, etc.

Looks Great! I can get the box engraved for you if desired. Would look better than P-Touch tape.

I don't reccomend placing cameras on the ground with the lens facing upwards either, they don't balance well that way.

Scott,

I must admit, the gaffer tape and marker does have that certain je ne sais quoi, that has kept this industry running for a long time.

Looks nice. The Element Technica version is quite a bit smaller and very trick. Not sure what the price differential might be...

May the 3rd party accessories price wars begin! All joking aside, bulletproof without being overpriced is the ticket.

I expect ET's unit to meet the needs of most Redusers and budget. We pressed the go button on this before I knew the extent of the accessories ET were going to produce.

I'm sure he has enough incentive to let the community know what he has got planned!

I really don't know how many times I and others on this forum asked for connectors like these as standard on the red, so why on hell doesn't red build the cameras with connectors facing backwards ???
