Maybe not that much R&D on the Meizler. Element Technica has probably already developed most of the electronics for their 3D rigs. Packaging looks like it might already have been completed. FCC approval shouldn't take too long, as much is already known and probably needs to be evaluated and verified. This one may come quick, I hope, I hope, I hope.

All I am saying is this... It's purely a guess, but RED has been known to wow us over and over again. We have seen no pictures of the new Pro IO... Or have we... I my opinion it would make sense that the Meitzler module is the new pro io... but I could be terribly wrong, (wouldn't be the first time) If you look at what can be extrapolated from the images... Not that different from the other pro io's functionality... We could then possible see the regular IO turn into something that looks more like the regular IO... Those I my suspicions...

Heh. 1 year and 6 month bump there.

There's been other threads on this topic Erik, but basically Meizler is getting redesigned from the ground up. I believe the quote was "forget what you knew about that version of Meizer".

It hasn't been officially unveiled, although I can make more than one educated guess on what has changed. I'll keep my lips shut to not incite a riot of excitement however.

Fingers crossed for this module. I ordered it the day it was went on sale as it solves a lot of problems for me.
