  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Frame stutters between 120fps and 190fps

Yeah - I mean I've tried it on so many cameras now that its most definitely not camera specific - its system wide as far as I can tell.
 
Hey, good news world:

I talked to RED about it and it seems like its solved in firmware v5.. I just installed the beta and indeed, the stuttering is no longer there! Yay!

Its still there in the release build, but hopefully we'll all be on 5 soon enough.
 
I got that randomly after I updated our epic yesterday to the latest beta.I thought it was something odd with the +1 module (that I used for the touch). After rebooting and fiddling around a bit the studder was gone. I was at 25p the whole time. So it does seem to be a beta issue more than camera / hardware problem.
 
That's too bad Bjorn. Its possible that your issue is symptomatically similar, but in fact different in cause then the 121fps-189fps stutter issue. I've been keeping track of "my" issue and its (up till now) been happening for at least a year consistently over different builds, different cameras and different outputs.
