Price Drop on Pix 240 to $2600

Red Rock Kit price drop to $1800

HP Monitor price drop to $300

FSI Monitor price drop to $2400

Is there a huge difference with the IPS screen? I would love to save $600

Question whats the difference between pix 240i and pix 240?

Also anyone that can confirm that this works well with Bolt wireless SDI, so that the auto record function and TC follows... I know I read somewhere a while back that bolt would make it so that the epic record on/off tag and such would go trough but I have had no opportunity to test.

Interested to buy this thing if price gets lower...

240 and 240i is purely the screen. You really don't use the 240's screen as anything more then confirmation of levels and time-code/menus.

I say that because Jim's price is a hell of a deal.

Bjorn and Bob

The i version is just an updated IPS screen which does not yield a huge difference you wont judge focus or color off this.
The audio though on Sound Devices products is what really also sets this apart this is absolutely the best recorder if you need quality audio to your ProRes or DNxHD dailies.

I have used it with the Bolt and Paralinx and it works great. This was a firmware update a while back that had the meta flag and start stop record all picked up on the Pix.
Im holding firm on the $2600 for now some offers have come in but no one has committed just yet but I do think this will go pretty quickly.

Issac thanks for the comment.

I used the "i" version the screen then was just like any small screen not much more than a tiny thing to review shots on. How does the none i version differ from that? is it different resolution or any such thing.

I will only use it as something between my client monitor and the camera and some times as a wireless unit for the director...

If you're using a proxy recorder as a wireless unit for the director, it's probably not the right choice for you.

IPS offers better viewing angles and has a more consistent backlight, that is all. It's the same product otherwise as the 240(non-i)

I set this up via HDSDI out of the Epic and run to both the Pix and a 24in client monitor the great thing about it for playback is I can take the Pix caddie out and already have ProRes/DnxHD to drop into any workflow of choice.
Although you can use it as a wireless with say a Bolt or Paralinx a dedicated monitor like SmallHD etc works as well.

Yes yes, I got that part. Used the pix many times having it right before the client monitor allows for very nice replays etc. And the proress disk are really great. Wish you where selling 2 disk units as I like to have 2 to swap with one in on set editing while the other is sitting in the pix and then swap back and fourth. oyu do not happen to know how much the SSD bracket thing cost solo?

Pix 240 still available

HP Monitor available

FSI still available

lots of inquiries none have committed yet

Hi Bjorn, the pix caddies are $100.00 And I've used the Sandisk SSDs with great success for several years and a !20 gig is around $110, a 240 gig around $180 in the states. Hope this helps.
