I want to inform potential buyers of what to expect in such transactions: Sam T's sold me a very expensive anamorphic lens and the EXACT description was "Brand new. Unused." But the lens was NOT unused as he had described when he sold it. He misrepresented the lens and I have proof from Focus Optics that clearly states that the lens has irreparable damage.

This helps a potential buyer by getting a better price since the seller now knows his/her reputation is questionable, in this case, Sam T.

Adnan, I hope you are well. Please remember I told you that the lens is "unused, brand new" condition. You saw its serial number (on the lens passport) that this lens was made in 1978 and you had to know that 35 years old lens cannot be "brand new" in any way. Even if you buy a brand new lens today and want to sell it tomorrow it won't be a brand new anymore. Remember brand new lenses NEVER sold without an upfront payment. I shipped that lens before you did payment. Because I didn't want any problem with buyers.

Let's return to our case. I described the lens as I SAW it. I sent you some footages and explained that the lens is not sharp. I did NOT disassemble the lens as I am not a lens tech. I trusted and shipped(free) to you without any upfront payment for further testing by competent people. You inspected it and paid 2K LESS than we agreed saying that it has an issue and MUST be serviced at F.O. etc. Be honest you can never do this with brand new lenses. But you did it.

When I asked you to ship it to Olex for free service paid BY ME you refused.
After 10(!) months passed you started to complain. No one accepts return after ten months. But I asked to ship the lens back and offered to refund your money. You refused again.
What do you want now?

I don't want to bash or anything, but the picture is really not good.

There are some better lenses for less money. I just bought a Lomo Hawk rehoused set for the same price per lens (9k).
Yes the lens is rare but if it's unusable...

Yes, Bérenger, I agree that cosmetically the lens looks not enough good.
And you stated fairly that it is the most sought after lens among Lomo roundfronts.

It is possible but very hard to find a better and cheaper lens than this.

When you buy a set of 4 lenses for 36k(!) that does not mean each costs 9k. Everyone knows that each lens in any set has different prices just like different focal length.

If you have to sell for 9k one of the lenses from your set, I bet you would sell 50 or 75mm but not the 150mm :)

To my knowledge this lens needs more than collimation. You should be able to produce at focused image, if it only needs collimation. More likely it will need a complete overhaul and realignment of the lens elements.

It also might be beyond repair...

If you send me detailed, sharp pictures of the lens, and through the lens, and I liked them, I would be prepared to offer you about half of what you are asking.

Sale pending...

The lens will be shipped to a lens tech for inspection and service or repair if needed.

Hello

Sam is trustworth and friendly member of this society. I was unable to buy and pick up this lens because of abroad project, he shipped lens as declared - stricly to his collegue close to me to inspection and final decision - very useful, very friendly, very safe. Unfortunately - was not oportunity to meet his collegue, but all was arranged. I can't say nothing about condition of lens but all was arranged as he declared - very solid member in my opinion.
