clean mode

so i seem to have entered clean mode (again) - is there any other way to get out of this mode and be able to see all my menus again without resorting to the double tap method on the touchscreen? - i only have the EVF and have to rely on the kindness of fellow epic/red owners locally - thanks

Shut the camera down and reboot by holding the power button down for at least 10 seconds.

just installed the latest for Scarlet 4.0.18 - managed to sort it now via the touchscreen of a friend but am nervous about the day this happens in the field and i am really stuck..

I read that double tapping the screen should work.
I did the same once and I had to hook up my evf and go trough the menus with the side handle, which was not to easy on a stressfull shoot

yes it does Bjorn - unfortunately i dont have the touchscreen myself - its mentioned in the user's manual

When using the long hold to reset to defaults you need to hold down the power button until the fans kick on 100% (this may be more around 15-20 seconds). Don't let go of the power until then. I would recommend trying this once or twice before you are out in the field if it makes you more comfortable knowing you can get back to a known state.
