  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Camera Build 4.0.18 Available for Download

While we're talking shutter stuff- for a long time now changes made to the shutter value while in 1:1 zoom are forgotten when you go back to the normal view. Any chance that one's been caught?

Sorry if out of topic... Relative to shutter speed:

Is it possible to have a varispeed mode to get the right shutter frequency to synch with strobing light like dimmed LED or other strobing sources using a up or down dial that could handle 1/100 of a second increment and direct feed back on the LCD? The manual input is not fast enough.

Thanks

Patrick

You will not be able to roll back to earlier firmware revisions after installing v4.0.18

Am I reading that correctly that we are stuck to this build only?

no, I don't think you are reading that correctly. On the download page it says:

You will not be able to roll back to earlier firmware revisions than v1.7.10 after installing v4.0.18

Thanks for clearing that up. In the email sent out announcing the firmware upgrade it says "IMPORTANT: You will not be able to roll back to earlier firmware revisions after installing v4.0.18.".

Will the Epic fire a strobe yet?...that would be handy for a "DSMC".

i am still having issues with the power save mode. when it powers back up.
sometimes the touch screen stops working.

I'm concerned and bummed with the disappearance of lesser resolution Anamorphic aspect ratio settings on Epic these days... I shoot A LOT of anamorphic on Epic, and currently there is ONLY 5K ANA offered... what happened? Now I cannot shoot any high speed beyond 96fps for my anamorphic projects... can we PLEASE re-enable 4K and 3K ANA modes?

Pretty please?

Seems odd that they removed those modes. Did they replace them with other video modes or something?
I don't understand why something like that would be removed.
