  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC r3d frame grabs, who plays ..

how do you guys get your images to show up on the post not as clickable thumbnails

Don't use the attachment feature, use "insert image" instead,
Insert_zps940fee17.jpg
but, you are going to have to upload your image

to any of the free image hosting services online like photobucket.com or similar, and then use the address URL from the picture when asked.

( you can preview everything before you post in advance mode ).

If you're asking what I think you're asking, the answer is RedCine-X. There's a button right underneath the viewer that takes a R3D snapshot; literally creates a 1-frame R3D file based on where your playhead is sitting. There's also a button right next to it to make a non-R3D snapshot. That button creates a still image in a format and place depending on how you have it set up in Preferences.

Actually I'm talking about while being on set actually. Is there a way to just take a picture? Do I really have to go to 1fps or something and just hit record really quick? I figured the shortcut "Save UI Screenshot to redmag" would mean "Take a still" essentially but apparently not as it just saves a photo of the camera's settings.

There's currently no "stills" mode on the camera. You can set it up so that every time you hit the trigger, it records one frame (useful for stop-motion, and something that was only recently added). But this adds the frames to the same clip, so every time you hit the trigger, you are lengthening your R3D by 1 frame. There is no mode that will make it so that one button press = a new 1-frame R3D.

This is mighty helpful, thanks. Do you know how to set the side handle trigger to this mode?

EDIT: my apologies for derailing the thread...
