  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Music Video

The lighting, framing, editing and color grade are all way above par, superb even. However, where is the concept? There is no concept that I have not seen 500 times before. Guys in an cool apartment partying with hot chicks? This is not really an idea - it's just a copy of countless other videos in this genre.

The girl "vocalist" character also seems to sleep with both the singer and the rapper, on the same night, which is kinda icky, and signifies what exactly?

So.. You it seems you put immense effort into all other aspects of the production, and did a superb job, but spend maybe 5 minutes on the script.

Next time, work as hard on making it look great, but start with an actual idea and you will have something amazing.

Think of any classic music video, or any music video that went massively viral - you'll find they all did something completely new, and had totally original concepts, in big and small ways, and that the concept was married to the song, brought another layer of meaning for the viewer. Do you really feel that this does that?

Thanks Donnie, I shot using my RED1 and a RED 18-50 Zoom.

Robert and Edward, I totally agree with you, there is no story and it's unoriginal, which is exactly why I put my heart and soul into my filming, editing, lighting and colouring, my saving grace if you would while working to the artist's story.

I'll have a short film to post in a month which is very heart felt and I hope you enjoy the script (and acting etc). Until then I hope you can put up with my pocket money videos to pay for the big goals :-(.

If the artist forced your hand, I know what that's like, and you have my sympathies. But still, you'd be surprised, when you have a great idea, how artists can be convinced - and later thank you. It's always worth politely trying.

it's on could mean a lot of things - it could be about hot romance, it could be taken ironically - and it could be illustrated in 10 000 ways. No one ever got famous taking the obvious route - and I get the intuitive feeling that Kacey is capable of much more than that, since his other choices appear so smart, I get the feeling he is smart too, could have come up with something clever and unexpected that still went with the song.
 
Kacey you did a great job. Don't be disheartened by a couple of guys on here who are clearly jealous of your capabilities.

But the black dude does look like a serial killer!

I'm not jealous, I'm respectful. It's because he has these capabilities in one area that I'm sure he could nail an original concept too.

Thanks Adam :001_cool: - Yes he's a world of entertainment too with his facials.

Guy's I'm totally cool with everything being said, just glad to be able to share it with you since it was shot on Red. :)
