SUGGESTIONS OF CAMERA GLIDER FOR R1MX CAMERAS

Second the Dana dolly. You even get a 3D epic setup on this thing.
I like the Dana Dolly

I own the "rental" kit.. comes with a nice case.
you will need stands and rail.
Actually, I have used this on an adjustable height center fold table from office depot and home depot with great results.
for that application, all you need is rail I suggest aluminum, but in a pinch, pvc would do it..
cut to any length you want from 2 feet to as long as you can get.

Dana Dolly is perfect for Red One. Perfect for traveling with. You can buy pipe anywhere for it. Solid build.

Steve and guys. I am considering buying the DANA dolly "rental kit". What else do you need for the red one that is not included in that package? I mean can you just detach the fluid head from your tripod and mount it right away without the needs of anything else?

To be more clear. What kind of fluid heads do you use?

mannnn! I was o a budget yesterday. The dolly system was on the Alexa. The MX was the b camera. The idea was to keep it on the tripod for close up shots and other stuff but the director suddenly wanted a little slide with the MX... lol

I had my K3100cm on my car with a manfrotto 504 head. Well... I tried it with to tripods holding the slider and the thing worked really well, no bumps or anything! Smooth as butter!

I use a Sachtler with a 100mm bowl most of the time..
the Dana is natively flat base Mitchell full size, and comes with 100mm bowl and 150mm bowl adapters.. and a washer you need to use between the tie down nut and the underside of the Dana.. It's a large fender washer (and I keep meaning to get a spare from the hardware store)..

you will at least need 2 tubes and support for each end of the dolly.

I have used folding tables, and baby junior combo stands most of the time.

Hi,
I'm looking for a heavy duty camera glider/slider for R1MX. Any suggestions?

Cheers

You do not need to spend an arm and a leg.

There are many options on eBay. Some are just like a roller skate with a platform. Those probably work fine on a very flat surface. You can also just buy the wheels and make a dolly set up with pipe tubing. Simple with a little ingenuity.

Good luck, and have fun.
