  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just recently began looking into purchasing some HMI's. Very interested in the Pair of Joker-Bug 800's kit.
 
Thats for the kit. But once you use one, you will see the versatility. The bug idea is so useful vs. a direct light with just a reflector.

If it's built well enough to get a lifetime's worth of problem-free use out of it, it'd be worth every penny.
 
I own over a dozen jokers. They're fantastically useful lights and Ryan and Joey are awesome with sales, repairs and support.

Here are a few quick thoughts:

I don't have any 1600s. Just 800s, 400s and 200s

The smaller the light, the more robust. The bigger the light, the more delicate it seems to be and the more issues I've had. I have a bunch of units and they've been on location for years so there are bound to be issues and this pattern has emerged pretty clearly. Overall, they're all well made - just worth a mention.

the soft tubes are fantastic but super fragile. I feel like they need to improve the build. It's too bad. I continue to use them a ton cause I love the way they look.

I'm really busy right now but feel free to ask me anything and I'll try to chime in.
 
Love my K5600 Joker 400. I've been looking into getting another 400 or an 800, please count me in as interested in the group buy. Thank you!
 
I might not be able to afford it after taking care of that expensive Dragon but I would be interested in seeing what kind of deal we could get on the 800.
 
okay there's enough interest on here to move this forward. I've written Ryan and asked him to begin crunching numbers. Give him a day or so.. I'll begin to let you all know what comes up.
