  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Test: Hawk C Anamorphics 35,50,75,100, 135mm

Here is some more pix from another shoot... Love the sharpness in those pix in combination with the anamorphic DOF. Click on the links and then on the actual images to see them in full resolution.

Great to see you have such a nice set of lenses overthere in Sweden, I'll remember that when I plan to shoot in Sweden some day ;).

Though I'm familiar with the characteristics of these lenses I wonder how you manage some mechanical things I stumbled upon.

I tested them with our existing equipment (arri followfocus and heden focus motors) Though the focus barrel moves so far that thin gears can't keep up. Have you got wider gears for this?

Also using a hard donut with an Arri MB(14 6'x6') asks for some creative adjustments. There's just to much travel....again: have you found a good solution yet?

I'm thinking about making some kind of a soft donut that shifts over the barrel along it's travel distance. I truely fell in love these lenses. Though still a pain as an AC but we will overcome offcourse ;) The 35mm especially.

Great stills though Bjorn, beautifull!

You are quite right the front element and gear ring travels quite far. It's kind of od that they did not put on a wider gear ring. Our solution was to get the 2cm wide FF gear from arri and then we added some neoprene donuts. We actually always send that out together with the lenses when we rent them out. So by doing so I'm sure we avoided some stressfull phonecalls from AC's that, if this was not included, would have not noticed before they started to shot.

Also as the front element spins it's a no go with a clampon mattebox, we got the red mattbox on 19mm rail mount and I really wish they come out with a swing a way solution for it.
