It's an interesting duality when it comes to this subject.
In terms of aesthetic, design, and vision I do indeed love me some good Apple products. I agree OSX is extremely nice.
The reality of what transpired over the last few years in terms of my own personal post workflow and hardware choices, well none of that would be possible without Windows.
So that made the decision easy for me. It's going to be nearly impossible for me to do a full OS switch. My investment in software is too great to make any sort of significant switch. I don't even know if I've invested more on camera gear or software!
However, my reality is that the clients I do work for use everything and sometimes want everything, which means at a bare minimum I have to "understand" each OS, NLE, etc. to a certain degree. I had to cut on FCPX the other day and I don't own a Mac, but the tools are all trying to communicate the same message, they just all speak a slightly different language.
Interestingly enough through the years of painful growth and advancement all of the tools we need to do are creative work are much better than they have ever been and getting better all the time.
Cutting .R3Ds on my laptop in a hotel room still freaks me out.
