  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dude Sony is so stealing from RED's look/feel

At nab a Sony rep was using the phrase "future proof", reminded me of Ted's exact words a couple years back.

Really? Sony actually uttered "future proof"? I didn't think they understood what that phrase meant...

How about 7 years back?

Emulation does not lead.

Gentlemen, that's a completely common style for a camera body. Please look around. Also, the lenses are similar to many cine lens manufacturers...

Look, I love and own RED but if Sony emulates or pushes RED harder, that's definitely a good thing.

Dude! It's a Sony! :-)

Seriously, when Sony start to do upgradeable internals and lead the industry by at least 4 years, then I'd start to worry. Sony's like a big tanker that can only follow the shipping lanes and takes miles to turn. Red's not even in the same metaphor.

And, btw, I'm the Dude, so that's what you call me. Or maybe His Dudeness, or Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Frankly, I think anyone who takes the term 'future proof' seriously when it comes to digital technology - is setting themselves up for a whole world of hurt.

Is that the same Sony that have been backing 4K for nearly a decade and have led the way in 4K projection?

I've said it on here before.... The amount of distain for Sony is laughable, considering they are the driving force of 4K projection.

If you hope that your content will be shown in 4K, you should be cheering on Sony every bit as much as you are RED. Their projectors, tv sets, gaming consoles, players and other devices will be hugely influential in whether 4K actually takes off.

Yep, many 1000's of years ago Aboriginals in Australia painted images in caves and etched images into rocks, those images are still visable today...without needing electricity. The tech in the last 60 yrs alone has been incredible to say the least.....there is no such thing as "future proof" because we don't know what the future beholds for us. We should, like the people before us, make our images now with the tools we have now. It would be nice if all our digital images last for the next 20 000 years like our ancestors images have, but I doubt that will happen

I don't see the resemblance, If anything it looks more like that 70mm camera Panavision is making more then the Red One, but I guess it's sort of a rectangular shape and so is the red one so it's a blatant rip off.

Sony's NAB "Robot" presenters are soo awesome. I can't believe they don't talk about their ground breaking robotic human technology. They have it figured out!!!

"The. Sony. F65. Shoots. 8k. The. First. Of. It's. kind." - Sony Robot

Thanks for the support guys of saying dude at the beginning of a sentence, it's just a fantastic work

While I gotta hope that 4K does take off, I have a feeling that Sony's gonna find a way to screw their end of it up. Hope not, but if those presenter dudes have anything to do with it, they're in trouble!

I think it looks more like a phantom than anything else....dude.
