Hey everyone,

I can definitely organize an event. Not sure if I can host at my place though.

What would you guys like to see on the agenda?

Shooting something collaboratively in one sitting; discussion (post/pre workflow/rigs/sharing work/networking); models; cool locations? Personally I like meetups where everyone gets something out of it and actively do something.

EDIT: While I like Stephen's idea of shooting a band, looks like more people just want to be in a relaxed environment, which I am down for. So in the interest of the group we'll keep it low key.

Let me know, share your ideas!

Hi Arthur, I've never been to a Scarlet meet up, but I'm NYC based and if you need any help, let me know.

Thanks Jason! I'm just looking to connect with people who know what they're doing, going to shoots to observe/assist/etc just to get down with the workflow, create some cool projects using the Scarlet. Most of my work has come from DSLRs. If you ever need an extra hand at a shoot let me know.

I'm also trying to figure out a better color grading process. Been trying to use DaVinci Resolve Lite but not sure how to get the data back into Premiere once I've exported it out as an Final Cut Pro XML file from Premiere. Thoughts?

As long as I don't have a gig or prior engagements, I'd be down! I missed the last one which was about a year ago, do to a shoot.

Hey Arthur,

I'd be down for a meet up. I'm in Bedstuy, BK.

I think you missed more than one... the last one was only a few months ago. I missed it too because of a last minute shoot. Even though I helped organize it.

There was more then one of these? Missed everyone of them then.

It depends what platform you are on. If you are on Windows, you get Cineform Studio Premium and export out from Resolve in 444 for the return trip. You can get a trial of Cineform that lasts 30 days to get started out. Premiere has an easier time with the Cineform playback if it's wrapped in a Quicktime wrapper instead of AVI right now, at least on my machines. If you ever have to go back into Resolve, at any rate, you have to use Cineform inside an .mov. Resolve 9 will not ingest Cineform wrapped in .avi, only .mov will do. I use the regular version of Resolve, so I can't validate that the same rules apply for Lite, but that's how I do it. If you are on Os X you output from Resolve to ProRes 444.

I went to the last 2 and a bunch of people that said were coming didn't show up. But Let me know I'm down for another meet.

Yes, same thing, just use ProRes. Search the web for r3d, Resolve and Premiere, there are a number of workflow descriptions out there. But in essence they boil down to the same thing: once you come out of Resolve you are compelled to go to an intermediate format.

I live in CT technically, but its only a 45 minute ride to Grand Central for me on Metro North. Is this a CT inclusive event?

Feel free to join us if you are interested - not city exclusive! I was just listing NYC as I know there have been meetups before from reading this forum and I just moved to the city. I'll put your name on the list.

I'm really interested in going and hanging, but I just got a job offer, its looking iffy on my availability but please keep me in the loop in case I am free, thanks!

are we thinking weekday or weekend?
