I am leaning towards this group buy as it is very attractive, especially with the Paypal pay later option.

EDITED: Answered.

Thanks for the replies to my vehicle mount question. I did a quick google search and didn't find any kind of standard mount. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Luciano send me this link as a good source for parts. Look for Hill Vehicle Mount.

If more people are interested in parts like this, ProLine is open for group buys of accessories.

Hi Michael,
The Hill vehicule mount is great but the most versatile is this one: http://www.walterklassen.com/home-page/equipment-2/vehicle-mount/
You can mount it on standard aluminum tubing surrounding most camera rig or you can use the mitchell mount . Also great , the socket block tilts up or down to adjust since most car rigs are locked into place and sometime really hard to level.
It's about the same price as the Hill one (considering the Hill does not include the socket block, the Walter Klassen socket block is built in).
Sachtler also makes one with Euro mount but it's also very expensive.

One thing you should not try is to wear the vest and sit at the back/side of a van : You 'll have to extend the arm very far away to avoid the van's bumper/door... and sitting while having the load on will make the bottom of the vest cut the blood flow to your legs....After 5 minutes of operating, you won't be able to feel your legs . And in the event of any problem , the rig attached to you will be very hard to detach under load and could become a heavy projectile , or worse, it could drag you with it.... No good.
If you know any steadi op in your area, this is the kind of equipment that could be rented for a few bucks a day. I know I would not mind renting mine to someone else in my area.

Hope that helps.

Frederic

The boring and exhausting part of the group buy project seems to be coming to an end. The fun part should start in 45 days, when we take delivery of our rigs and can shoot with them  Vitaliy seems to be in charge of the Laing group buy, so my work there is also done.

Many of you wrote me mails and personal messages to thank me for my work, which I really appreciated, especially in times when chaos ruled the threads.

Now I would like to ask you all for a favor. My short film, which I produced and directed for stage5 and Continuum, got published today. The film's executive producers are Mark Kern and Cindi Rice. Mark posted some months ago here on reduser about his ambitious project of funding short films (check out the thread).

Nowadays, views on youtube are a currency. I do have a great new film project which I want to shoot for stage5, but to get the funds, this first film has to be successful. So please have a look at my film "Partner" and, if you like it, share it with your friends.

Cheers
David

I was worried about this. 45 days is going to be a problem for me. Damn, I really wanted to get in on this.

Shipping is not calculated when I went through the order process. Will that be charged later?

I don't see any option for international buyers to pay in installments. How is it done?

same here can't see the shipping charges and pay in installment options. seems to want to put it all through at once.

Great short David, I really liked the subway shots, they felt very real, all the peoples reactions were genuine and it made the film more believable. Would have loved a more natural "dudes with bars on their heads running around on a field" look before the final transition to the game but it worked well regardless.

I may be mistaken but I think proline is suggesting you use the Paypal service "Bill me later" which offers 6 months interest free (for US at least).

Luciano wrote me this earlier. Will try to figure it out.

I Asked payday [paypal?] and it's fine. As soon as they have a Paypal account or bill me later, they can do it. Doesn't matters if they are international buyers. They buyers can do 3, 6 or 12 payments depending their credit card limits. Even if they don't have a paypal account, they can enter the credit card info in the web and the payment is going to go thru paypal.

Yeah. Definitely keen on the Proline but would like to see the details of the payment plan as well as international shipping (I tried it just now and it only gave me the option to bill the lot in one go and did not show shipping charges)

Can we confirm also the Proline includes cables for Epic/Scarlet and has V-Lock battery plates included... so that all you need to do is add camera, batteries, and monitor and you are set to go?

Here you go hudson:
For this reduser edition, a RED power cable for the Epic and/or the RED one is included (will ask if we get both). The battery plates are included, but you have to send a mail if you want AB or vmount. The package includes the battery plates, junction boxes, cables and so on. You can find more info on it on my blog. Expected delivery time is 45 days. There's soft foam in the case. It's not precut. The arm and the sled fit in, and there will be a bog for the vest.

Ahh that's fantastic. So I assume you can run one V-Lock for monitor/FF motor power/accessory etc on the bottom of the sled, and the dual V-Locks at the rear of the sled run the camera?

So, free international shipping!?! So good!!

Kidding, but I would like to see the damage for international buyers, will we have to send another payment after the original one?

David,

I PM'd you, and even so has become a bit hard to follow al the different threads... FANTASTIC job you did for every one in this Group Buy!!

Having done Group Buys before and in the process of doing one right now, I do know too well the amount of work that needs be put in to it with constant communication with the Manufacturer/s and this community's of questions, so, again, GREEAT WORK and thank you for putting it together!!

This is the proof that a very inexpensive tool even on the level of something so otherwise costly can have it's public, as for me I just wanted a Steadycam rig to play with it every here and there without having the need to hire some one for silly little tests and or home made videos, then if by chance I am indeed capable of actually pulling out anything usable then the better... If I like it, then I can decide if investing in a more expensive one... ;)

The ProLine T2000 Reduser version looks really nice.
