  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hawk Vintage '74 Anamorphic test

Hawk really doesn't "sell" lenses. THey work out deals with rental houses to house them. I think if they were for sale they would be over $30,000

They sold some sets in the past, we bought ours through a dealer in Australia and as I was told the previous owner was in based in India. but I doubt that they will sell any new vintage sets, and very unlikely that they will sell any of their coming 1.0 lenses.

From what they told me it doesn't seem to be their business model now though. Maybe that will change once they have a few sets in circulation? I do like the c series hawks as well. Nice lenses.

Eric, thank you for sharing this an incredible information, both infront and behind the camera and lens. I am now picking my jaw up from the ground and seeking medical attention.

I don't know if its just me, but, it looks like anamorphic glass, does the same optically to an image, as a LUT does it mathematically, dont you think?, Probably some kind of color aberration is applied nicely in three dimensions, but is just a speculation. Anyway, it looks just Sweet!!

Graded in Photoshop direct from R3D.. Mask applied to face and body in order to bring up some light..
