I shoot nearly everything at 5K 5:1, but that's just me.

At 7:1 and higher compression the quality level moves from visually lossless to lossy and it takes more CPU horsepower to decode the wavelets. Storage is cheap... It's not worth the compromise in time or quality to increase the compression, IMO.

Only exception to this is long-event shooting or remote location shooting where REDMAG record time is at a premium, then we have to find the right balance.

This i would of shot it at 5k 6:1 and iso 800 in a dark situation like this , I would do 500

They were shooting with a R1MX as well. So they matched the highest compression and frame size from the R1MX to the Epic.
