  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Appleinsider -- Rumor: Apple manufacturing 2TB SSDs bound for upcoming Mac Pro

Considering most SSD makers will be offering capacities to compete with HDDs by the end of this year, I totally believe this rumor. The catch is the pricing, capacity is no longer an issue. And prices will come down rapidly over the next few years. They have been falling rapidly over the past few as it is. Days of the mechanical HDD are numbered.

May also be the Fusion drive for Mac Pro.

At this point I don't think any of us care what SSD options are in the new mac pro, as long as they just release the darn thing we can fill it third party as needed... Personally if money is no option I wouldn't use sata at all for my SSD's, go the OWC pci route

That is most of the point of sites making some fuss over this, its not the news itself that is important, its that there is development going on for a Mac Pro, and that it is a more noticeable refresh than the barely noticeable changes they made last time....

I think the fusion theory makes sense, its already in all their desktop models and it's a heck of a lot cheaper then going for true SSD's

Just release a new MacPro already! I have been saving for a new workstation for over two years! Can't justify spending it on old hardware. I'm ready to pull the trigger as soon as they drop!

Such good news. I've been waiting for larger SSD drives at semi-affordable prices.
