  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Looks like epic is not alone when it comes to price cuts... a great camera, for an amazingly low price.

Big ticket items rarely sell well on eBay. My guess would be it goes for under 50k. We'll see. Amazing deal in any case! eBay would be so much better if everyone had the balls of this seller and did a no reserve $1 auction.
 
Yeah, people who might be interested won't necessarily be able to come up with the cash on the short eBay timetable.

The seller has nine posts in 2 years. Clearly he's not a member of the RED community and just posting here and a handful of other sites to get the word out to the kind of buyers that might be interested in such an auction.

Nothing wrong with that. But we certainly aren't hurting his auction by bumping this thread.

There are 13 bidders. If that whole kit goes for under $50K I will be shocked. I know that it's not a popular camera amongst the crowd here and one could also argue that the F55 will be seriously cutting into this camera's appeal but still considering what you get with it, it might be a steal at $60K. It's a brand new camera.

Definitely. This is the camera used for Oblivion and After Earth right? Insane how things have changed these days.
 
i know an arthur to and he's a good guy, but nothing here makes sense. way to low a price, and it's a 24 hr auction? the short time makes it seem fishy. it does not give buyers the chance to communicate with the seller and ask questions? for an item as expensive as this, it seems strange. be careful. get in touch with the seller before you buy, and make sure he is who he claims he is.

I've been on eBay since it originated and that looks about as a genuine an auction as I've seen. He's got 1700+ ratings at 100%. He's got lots of other stuff listed for sale. And basically if you are in the OC/LA area, he said you can inspect it. I'm local so if I was buying it I would go pick it up and if it wasn't what he stated, I would walk. I'm sure whoever ends up with it will be local, or at least I hope so.
 
2 hours left. This thing is currently at $32K. Maybe a mad flurry at the end. Very interesting.
 
I stick to my guns, after selling many things on ebay, as a seller, there is no good reason to do a 24 hr auction unless you are trying to hide from someone. Good luck, and be safe. Don't send any money without seeing the camera in person. Take the trip to los angeles before you pay, it's worth the 32k or more that you will loose if i'm right.

Did you see the other one that popped up now too? 24hr auction also. fishy fishy.
 
Looking at the bid history, it was a seven day auction actually.

but wow, closed at 39K! Such a deal. Told you guys. That other slightly used one actually looks like it will go much cheaper. At 20k right now. Technology is a funny business..

Are you the buyer? Don't know if we'll ever know. But yeah, these big transactions are really hard to complete on so many levels and eBay gives you many ways to back out, so who knows.
 
If this actually goes through and is 100% legit then this was the buy of the year, if you were in the market for an F65. That's more than a 50% discount on a brand new F65. Wow!
