Shot on Epic-Guillermo del Toro,"Pacific Rim"

[Julio Quintana]

Guillermo Del Toro on Pacific Rim, including why he chose the Epic:

Notably, he chose Epic over Alexa because there was much more information (resolution I assume) as well as more saturated colors.

[Tehben Dean]

It's interesting he said it wasn't gong to be 3D but the trailer says it is in the end. So I assume the studio must have decided to Post-Convert...

[Chad Lancaster]

Looks awfully similar to Neon Genesis Evangelion

Interesting, some guys complained about MX sensor producing inaccurate or muted colors. Not a problem for Del Toro and Navarro, it seems. Look forward to this film, looks fun.

Transformers meets Cloverfield

[Jeff Kilgroe]

sounds like a fun project - hope its a better story than Battle LA - but given the director... Im not that worried.

I'm sure the story is still pretty weak, the concept doesn't provide a complete escape from that attribute. And there are a few things already shown in the trailer that kinda make the logical centers and engineering nodes in my brain go "huh?". That said, I'm a sucker for giant robots and monsters. So, me and my bucket of popcorn will be there...

[Adrian Jebef]

Pacific Rim ?

Ack!

Where's my live-action R O B O T E C H movie !

[Stephen Matthews]

Giant robots fighting giant monsters from another dimension... nothing wrong with that. Sounds like my kind of movie, I have always said any giant monster movie will get my viewership but my ultimate in campy cinema krypotonite is giant robots and oh boy this movies got em both!

[Paul Lee]

+1 for ROBOTECH

[Michael McLaughlin]

Man this reminds me of Johnny Sokko...

Loved that in the 70's as a little kid.

Now all we need is a modern english interpretation of Ultra Man and I will be all set.

Yes, please.

[Petr Dvorak]

Is it distributed also in 4K?

[Jesper Sichlau]

Seems like Peter Jackson had a great influence on Guillermo.
