NICE SHOTS!!! I think it would have been cool to see it in a warmer color correction!! Otherwise it was a great test!!! Thanks for posting Cassidy

Thank you ... yes it was getting really dark. That Canon lens is only 2.8 I believe. I did bring the Kelvin to 9400 to warm it up.

Here are some High Quality Screengrabs as well.

Either way, great work!!! I realized that you are in Grand Rapids, MI. That must be why the shots are a bit desaturated, but it does look really good!! I will post my new movie trailer I did for LionsGate, tell me what you think!!

Sure! I'll love to see it. The youtube compression doesn't help. It was an extremely overcast day. Which I like because it's like a big soft box.

Cassidy, How many times did you have to change batteries on this shoot? I'm curious as to Cinestar battery usage, Epic battery usage and total GB of SSD used... Any estimates? Great stuff. I played in weather like that yesterday.

Thanks Andy, Battery usage to power the Cinestar gets us 3 minutes of flight time. As opposed to 12 to 14 minutes with the 5D. Epic battery usage is not really a factor when you only have 3 minutes of flight time. I have 4 128 GB SSD cards, and I never run out of space. Even shooting at 120 FPS 5k.

Glad you liked the footage!

Great stuff Cassidy,
Their site states max payload for cinestar8 to be 2Kg - how are you achieving this with the epic?

best
joe

Yes the standard package allows for that weight.... but there are many things you can do to safely fly the Epic. They are on Quadrocopter's store.

Looks great.
So is the only tradeoff to get it to lift the Epic a shorter flight time?

Yes, that is the only trade off, but switching to a new Lipo is really fast, so there is very little wait time.

Cassidy, what focal length do you use for the aerial stuff, like for the golf shots? Do you only use primes? Or are you using a Zoom and using that yellow tape to lock the zoom?

Also, I see you're not using the side handle. So is the camera being powered by the same batteries that are powering the Cinestar somehow?

Definitely only primes... 24mm for the golf aerials and the 14mm for Camaro aerials. The tape just holds the focus at infinity. :)
