I couldn't figure out why a recent batch of files was taking 10-15x longer than the normal 1:1 with a RR to render from R3D to Prores. The footage is RC 12:1 4kHD.

Turns out there was a very tiny minor adjustment made in Alchemy, causing the renders to take MUCH longer.

Good to know.

What were the settings values that caused the problem, and what did you change to fix it?

I'm guessing it was the difference between having Alchemy on or off. It grinds to a halt using Alchemy but you can get a really nice look!

I also found that rotating a clip caused the clip to take almost 10x as long to process out, all other settings remaining the same.

The alchemy demands no rocket render. So best is to use it (if you want to use it) only for XLM renders / selected takes.
