I seem to remember that the R1 used to have a standby function - i.e. pressing a button to lower power consumption to a minimum but without the long bootup. I've been looking but can't seem to find such a function on my Scarlet. Do we have one? Should we have one?

Also - unlike the RED ONE - the boot up time for the Scarlet is no longer an issue...
What I would like to see is the ability to turn off the monitoring path - a live image that requires a lot of processing = power.
Many times we are just setting up some settings, etc. and do not need the live picture. This will dramatically decrease the power consumption during such a mode...

Wait for version 4- Jarred hinted that power management has finally been addressed for Epic/Scarlet.

Also really hoping for 5K WS @ 24p and 4K WS @ 48fps (24p HDRx) for Scarlet..pretty please!

I don't know about the framerates, and at any rate (pun intended) this is being thoroughly discussed elsewhere. Better power management seems a more realistic hope to me.

I know, and appreciate, the faster bootup. But someway to quickly turn off the image processing (as you say) or whatever else could be done would be a handy feature.

We do a lot of run and gun work where powering all the way down and back up is just not an option. When Red implements a Power Management function I hope this is the kind of thing it addresses; something that powers off all non essentials but doesn't take too long to get back to recording again. This would make a huge difference in our shoots and the amount of batteries we run through.

Second this. Would love to have a feature that just allows us to disable the monitor while waiting around or something like that. Mappable to one of the keys on the side of the touchscreen, ideally.
