To me... any number of companies could change the world. It is about who wants to change the world, not who is just trying and keep up.

It is about vision for the future... it is about leading.

It is about caring for the consumer. It is about performance and price.

We aggressively throw our hat in the ring.

it's nice and refreshing to hear or read words like that from a person in your position and not have it just simply be BS or politics.

I would never in a million years be able to think about shooting my own projects on the same camera that shot, "The Hobbit", "The Amazing Spiderman" & "Prometheus" without RED!!!

It's nice to see the head of a company, any company, care enough to continually update, inform and inspire. I guess that's the difference between a founder and a CEO.

Thanks!

Yup'

And we thank you for doing that. 100% behind you.

Change the world?

Adquisition -- check
Distribution -- on its way!!!

Having worked, a little bit, a while ago for someone who owns a two digit billion fortune, I asked him what makes someone leading the business:

"The fast ones eat the big ones , not the other way around". (Freely translated)

I wish the RED team, to be the fastest where ever they go. :o)

Hi Jim, I'm just about to join the red world with a new scarlet, but have run into lots of asterisks (can't do this if that, but can, sort of, in this case). 10K (more like 15k) is a lot of money for me. That being said, Will you continue to stand behind and grow the scarlet feature set? FF shooting and any more FPSs (at any res 2k or above) would greatly benefit those of us below the means to get the Epic, even with new pricing.

In any case, I'm very grateful for this cutting edge technology and look forward to many shoots.

Yeah. This is how I look at it too. Democratizing acquisition is awesome. But in a way, this happened as far back as with DVX100. Remember films like Tadpole with Sigourney Weaver? (I know it wasn't at 4K, but still...)

What's very exciting for me is the thought that with REDCODE, RED RAY etc. I'm pretty darn sure RED will now keep moving forward through the entire acquisition thru post to distribution chain and disrupt the <pardon my french> out of it. Some solid partnerships along the way would be very helpful. Get REDCODE or some streaming variant of it on Netflix perhaps? ;)

The sky's the limit for this industry that has always resisted change, has always had gatekeepers. Took RED to blow those doors down.

It's pretty clear you are the leaders in changing the world of visual acquisition. I'm more concerned the Japanese will be the default standard setters for high res distribution. My expensive digital fiber FIOS delivers lower resolution HD than a cheap antenna and they pretend it's the better because it's "fiber".
RED has been amazing but I'm not smart enough to see how a better solution can beat out entrenched standard setters. They have already defined 4K as Ultra HD and I'm sure their own versions of the standard will be unlikely to include NIH (not invented here) solutions.
Please prove me wrong about distribution as I'm already convinced RED technology is ground breaking.

Thank you Jim.

The thing about leading is that you have to be out front. Being out front means that you have to forge new paths and those paths are full of obstacles. Also, there will be disparagers who will try and remove you from the lead. It takes a perceptive understanding to navigate and perseverance to stay the course. These things the Red Team has clearly demonstrated.

Just know that I and the Red Users have your back.
