  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Attitude adjustment...

Wow Fantastic, I have a Battle Tested Scarlet on order which is a deal of a life time, which lm sticking to, but this means l can look forward to an epic in the near future.

Many thanks to all at RED

OK....

Bring on the scarlet program, just make it easy... Upgrade scarlet to epic and then on to dragon....
How can you make an affordable scarlet dragon???

What about the people who recently bought epic or scarlet. I got my scarlet package on 10th of Oct. Do we get some sort of credit as mentioned in your initial post ?

Any chance of a Scarlet to Epic program?

Also, by 5k/4k Scarlet, you mean 5k at 12fps? That's a little misleading, no?

what about the people just bought Scarlet BT ones? are they gonna get any credit? Brand New Scarlet went 1750$ down..Maybe Red Armor 1 year as a gift :)
You bought a used camera, why would you get credit? Plus yo ugot the Side SSD AND Canon mount... You jumped on this bandwagon already rollin man! Be grateful you got the deal you did!

Pretty awesome stuff Jim. You let me in with a R1 for 18k. Then prices shut the door for some. You have now opened it for others that were in my position years ago. Well done.

And don't forget guys. RED has done this in one of the worst economies in American history.

Jim, Jarred, RED team and the guys who put all the pieces together.

THANK YOU.

No, read carefully; he said it's not *included*:

"Dragon sensor upgrade is not included for any EPIC system purchased at the new pricing going forward"

Which is slightly confusing I admit, since AFAIK Dragon upgrade has never been 'included' in any EPIC pricing. I understand it to mean that it'll be a higher price upgrade for these cameras, and lower for earlier purchases; the cameras are identical and ANY Epic can be upgraded to Dragon.

Mike

no he said its a $6k upgrade no matter when you bought your epic.. it just doesn't include a free upgrade to dragon if you purchase over $50k worth of stuff

Enablers = enabling filmmakers
Best news to end the year .
Unless RED Ray and RED Anamorphs come out then it will be almost to much to handle.

But what about the 90 day vs 1 full year warranty?
You think its worth it?
Im confused :(

$7100 plus Red Armor is $8600, without knowing the figures exactly $7950 pluss side ssd and Canon Mount is about $10500 give or take?

So with 2 year warranty it is still close to $2000 cheaper, if I've read correctly and my maths is OK?

Mike, Epic systems bought for over $50K recently got the dragon upgrade for free. That is the thing that is no longer available. New Epics get the $6K upgrade path the same as everyone else.

BT R1, (which I know this are going to be literally as new, just like any other piece of BT gear I bought) INSANE... 4.5k for 4k!!

The R1, never looked so fantastic!!

Think about it...a day ago..all the R1 accessories were pretty much worthless in the used market...all of the sudden they have new life as the market will get inundated with BT R1's....sweet mother!
