If you announce you're dropping the price now, and don't expect to sell many cameras between now and then, why not just tell us the new price? I mean, waiting a week isn't a big deal, I'm just curious as to the point of remaining mum.

Because the competition is announcing something that day too. Remember Nov 4th?

This is another reason why building our own factories in California and manufacturing our cameras here was a great idea.

When manufacturing or assembly improves their process, becomes more efficient, and it results in cost savings, those savings can get directly passed down to the customer.

I can pretty much assure you that if we hired a factory somewhere else to build our product, we would never catch wind of those efficiencies.

I wish more American companies could think this way.

This is very exciting news. I've been working hard towards getting an Epic + AKS. Something I've been aiming to do by early 2013. One step closer. Thank you. It means the world to me.

The primary difference between us and the other guys is... we are in this 100% heart and soul. Jarred and I (plus a ton of Bomb Squad and other RED employees) live this stuff 18 hours a day. Jarred actually is really in 20 hours a day.

Everything matters to us. The cameras matter. Our customers matter. And it is complicated times a number you can't think of.

If we ever fail... it is NOT because we are not trying. We give our every fiber to this cause.

Jim

Personally I think your mad...

But I doubt you need the money.

Thanks Jim. Very honorable, :)

I have to say even after the leaked Sony specs from Nofilmschool.com I am not very impressed by what is coming from the Sony camp. When you consider the cost of divesting current camera equipment to upgrade to the latest tech.... I still thank the heavens every day that I cancelled my early fs700 order back in the day due to delays and went all in with a Scarlet.

Me too Phil. I think I may have one sooner than expected.

My expectations are that anyone who doesn't own an EPIC will after Nov. 1st.

Jim

If you are growing the cameras at home and in effect importing jobs back into the country then that is indeed commendable and worthy of consideration by window shoppers like me.

I like the way you guys conduct business. I don't own any RED products yet, but I will!
