Is there a proper firing order to adding batteries so the camera rolls over? Redvolts first and then vmounts, antons.... or vmounts first and then revolts???

I believe some had issues and the solution for them was the order in which the batteries were inserted. I personally never had a problem with REDvolts and Anton combo.
So you can pop on an Anton bauer and then a REDVOLT, then the scarlet will roll over to the side handle after the anton is dead?

My Epic has never just switched over without a specific order. That order is, install revolt, boot up on it only, then power down. Then install AB, and boot up again. After this hot swapping AB works every time.

Hey Mestizo,

You should be able to do this in any order, including AC mains too. Not sure if you're having this issue, but fwiw, my Scarlet side handle was one that had a problem when switching between Bricks/AC to redvolts. I got an RMA, sent the handle to RED Europe and it was back in about 3-4 days.

Works perfectly now switching to/from redvolts to Brick / Mains. As a general precaution I always make sure the brick is removed and the mains power is off before switching out the lemos for brick and mains.

Aside from that self-administered precaution, I can power up from any initial source, add the additional power source, remove the initial source, with uninterrupted camera operation.

Never tried whilst in the middle of a take though :D

I'll have to give that a try...my camera has NEVER switched automatically between the batteries...always just shutdown.

Hey Dane, it's not how it's supposed to be! :)

I had to wait for the right opportunity to send it (Side Handle), but I wish I'd just done it from the get-go. RED Service was fast and painless.

It's a pro-camera, there shouldn't be any voodoo around something as critical as switching out power and when it's sorted, there isn't.

I AC'd an Epic shoot with Red Bricks and Red Volts. The Epic was on a MILO. To avoid having to re-sync every time we switched a battery, I relied entirely on hot-swapping. And had 0 issues. I think I put the V-Mount on first, and then the Red Volt in, but I can't be certain, since I wasn't paying attention to the order.

Oddly enough, I keep meaning to run through the process on my Scarlet, and haven't had a need yet.
