I was very surprised to find out the upcoming JUDGE DREDD film has apparently been shot on Red MX as opposed to EPIC or any other system (Alexa etc). That is very cool.

The trailer has just recently been released and it looks awesome

Not bad for a camera who people think is going EOL

p.s. all the super slowmo was shot on Phantom Flex which is why they always look much more blown out and clipped cus of Phantom's poor dynamic range

EPIC wasn't released when "Dredd" started production (November 2010). The film has been sitting on the shelf for a little while and is just now seeing a release, which explains the use of the MX.

The red mx is going nowhere, they'll be cheap enough to use as crash cams before they are obsolete,
i just bought 2 , and I looooooove them .

by hollywood standards the used MX's already ARE cheap enough as crash cams ;-)

Like it. very nice trailer.

I liked the old helmet and Sly's mighty chin, that's about it. This one looks solid.

It seems to be a love it or hate it movie but I'm gonna see it next week in 3D if it hasn't already been demoted to taking up space status by the cinema I go to.

So no one is bothered by blatantly fascist characters and storylines?

Is that where we're at? The new normal.

It's Judge Dredd! The whole point of Judge Dredd and Mega City One is showing a law enforcement officer in a fascist dystopian future. Now I don't know if this new Dredd movie does enough to paint the complexities of this, but you can't compare Dredd to say a rah rah superhero film!

why would it be a bother? it's a fictional depiction of a future economic and social structure, meant to entertain the viewer with huge gun fights and explosions. it's a total escapist film not a deep political drama.

And the cars. Don't forget the cars!

Cool movie, but 1/5 of the shots had crazy noise levels (day exteriors included), which were extra distracting in 3D. You'd think they'd at least attempt some noise removal for a film like this.

Saw this on Blu Ray last night. One of the noisiest movies I've every seen. I was very distracting.
