I didn't see this coming...

Fascinating. Another company is stepping up to the cine-lens market. Tokina make some primes!

Looks like Tokina learned something from Mr. Duclos :yikes:

Glad to see them jumping into the Cine lens market. Hope Tamron and Sigma follow suit.

Great! Competition time, fellas! Now what about focus rotation and breathing? The housing looks quite massive so there is hope this is a "true" cine lens and not just another rehoused still.

The housing looks very similar to the Sony 11-16mm PL lens... Which specs also coincide with a certain Tokina stills lens.

Tokina has the same focal length as a still lens but I sure hope they made more improvements with the pl version.
The article says they increased the use of ultra-low dispersion glass and aspherical elements. I'm guessing it probably has the updated coatings that they gave the updated 11-16 photo glass as well, if not unique and improved coatings. I'm looking forward to seeing footage from this lens.

I saw this at the fair Interbee in Tokyo. Very impressed. The exhibitor told me that this will be the first of a series of cinema lenses.

Marco, can you say anything about breathing, built quality etc? Thx!

yeah I'm very interested too!!!
In their still photo lenses, Tokina build quality rocks!!!
But I'm really interested in breathing (lack of) performances!
