  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

you previously had to use a Blackmagic timeline sequence to play back your timeline with a Blackmagic Decklink card to an external display. Now you can play any timeline out the decklink cards...

Would this be the same with any I/O boxes/cards? like Matrox MXO2 ?

AND---

What about playing in After Effects with either BM or Matrox timeline setup? Currently we are working on a project on Premier Pro CS 5.5 and get playback using Matrox settings---but only via Premier out to Plamsa TV....In After Effects (on a Matrox setup) NO DISPLAY to plasma or any monitor out of MXO2...but yet we have the setup set to Matrox project....??

dont quote me but I believe it eliminated this requirement for all video out cards... So it should include the MXO2. I think I saw it in one of the CS6 promo video's where they showed playback on several different cards from a regular timeline.

Sure would be interesting if that is the case....Just can't get AE to playback on 5.5 via I/O setup....now, maybe 6 will take care of some of those issues AND (mac users) maybe we get 10 bit playback via viewer using I/O box-card - ?

Thank you for the link info, Kemalettin. Awesome gift from Adobe. Pre-ordered a few days ago, this is great to get acquainted with the new tools!
 
Adobe Transmit allows hardware like AJA Kona, BMD, Matrox to access the video stream in a simpler manner then before. That means you just create a regular sequence and it will play out a Kona 3 card, sending HD SDI out to an engineering monitor or tape machine. You also get CUDA goodness from your graphics cards if they support it. It is one of a few revolutionary developments in Adobe CS6.
 
is speed grade included in this?
 
3 5K stacked layers plus an audio layer... on a 6gig/i5 HP laptop with onboard Nvidia (the built in chipset cheapie one) - plus I'm driving a second monitor (26" Spectraview) - using the R3D's from the system drive and getting real-time in 1/8... didn't really expect that!

Basically a browsing and light use laptop - and even this can handle R3D's at 5K, albeit at the lowest rez.

Amazing really. Certainly there shouldn't be opposition to the RED workflow now :)

Yes - it's the full CS6 master package.

The installer didn't want to put one program in there... but everything else went fine.

Note - you can choose which programs to install (Windows) - so I presume it'll be the same on the Mac.
