im considering buying from MG Concepts for batteries for my Scarlet, any experience with them or the products? looking at...

Anton battery plate for Scarlet for 500
3-190 whr AXR TEX batteries for 1350 total
their charger for 600

thanks

I bought the IDX v-mount and D-plate. Gary was very responsive to e-mail inquiries.
My IDX v-mount does not read percent charge remaining but rather gives the voltage.
That's not a big deal to me, but you might want to ask in advance if that is the case for the AB mount.

I'm using GMP 160's (red version) and they work just fine. [I wonder if the GMP charger will charge the AXRTEC batteries...]

So, the company is very customer friendly, but I don't have specific knowledge about the products you listed.

so alan, you purchased from them... sorry not sure who gary is with... new to all of this.

well the site only has 2 chargers, one looks to only use DC power in (location charger), while the other takes both AC and DC in, so thus the brand switch.

Hi Michael

I also bought the IDX v-mount and the D-plate. It is very well built and seem rock solid. Gary, from MG, was quick to reply. on my questions. All in all I am very happy with my purchase. ( all though it was held up in Danish customs for 10 days, because the customs did not know what to charge me. eventually I was charged 96 danish kr. / 18 $ )

all the best

peter

so it looks like no matter which way you go you are looking at 2000-2500 for 2-3 batteries, a charger and a plate...? (that gets me about 4-6 hrs of batt time). i have the AC adapter but its hards for indie films where we shoot fast and do many takes. any other options/accessories/brands etc...?

You may want to check MG1 now, they are having NAB specials that may save you some dough. Not sure how long it will run but sounds pretty awesome.

They have some great deals their Scarlet V-mount Pro & AXRTEC batteries combo packages.

Michael B- I saw those on sale and they look great. http://www.videoproshop.biz/ has them pretty permantly at almost same price as well.

Hi Michael,

I saw them...looks good except they don't have 190's as you wanted. I thought you were saying in your first post you wanted these items:

Anton battery plate for Scarlet for 500
3-190 AXRTEX batteries for 1350 total
their charger for 600

I want to chim in too, I bought MG1 Scarlet V-mount Pro and was very impressed. Build quality is superb and customer service is first-class. I like the fact I get updates from them of new products with special discounts for us Pro customers. Sure, you can buy the another V-mount battery plate out there - probably cheaper but now I'm in MG1 Pro group and I get outstanding deals. Pretty cool.

No dissing RED but they don't give me deals on their new or existing products except when its a new camera.

Scarlet V-mount Pro plate is absolutely brilliant. Thanks Gary & Micheal.

When do you think you'll get those 190's in? Still waiting?
