Hi, I was shooting today and suddenly,in the middle of a take everything went blue, I continued shooting, and when I played back it was there, very sudden. I had to re-start my epic for the blue to disappear
Has this happened to any one?

This happened twice. I will post a short video when I get to my edit.

I've had this happen before many a time while switching lenses on the Epic, but my last shoot it just happened while we were setting up a shot. I call it smurf mode because everyone looks like a blue/grayscale smurf.

Glad I am not the only one...but does any one have any idea what is happening?
For me it only happened twice, in the middle of the take....and yes, it did look like smurf mode...
just hope it does not happen many more times

hmmm... I have had the color channels switched on me before, i think might be what you're seeing. In my case it was after a lens change and for some reason the Red channel and Blue channel got swapped and everyone appear blue. Realized this when i switched it in davinci. This was several builds back and i've only seen it once.

Never saw that on either of my Epics... Sure hope I never do.

hi antonio and all the others,
i had several of these incidents:
- most of them occured while i was testing / not shooting, I had the feeling it happened when touching the lcd or the front of the epic the image turned monochrome with a blue tint - a restart always helped
- one time it occured during an interview / take: the camera was running and recording, suddenly (after two minutes ...) the image in the lcd turned monochrome blue, but the camera kept recording. as this was an interview with a politician a couple of weeks before x-mas he only had 20 minutes for us, so I didn't stop the take and hoped it might be a metadata issue, which it wasn't
- i filed a support ticket and sent the r3d file to red, they looked into it, but couldn't tell either - so if the shot makes it into the final film, it will be black and white :-(

anyway - i thought i was the only one - thanks for posting - hopefully there will be a solution ... best wishes and kind regards,
martin

Had this happen two days ago. A reboot fixed it. All in all I find 3.0 to be pretty stable : )

If it's really just a red and blue channel swap, can't you swap them back in post to save that footage?
