So I'm popping back to the States and going to be in Washington D.C for a couple of days shooting on the Epic for the Smithsonian institute. 6th- 9th March. I hope to get some time to check out the city and wondering what I need to see thats not in the Guide books? Coffee or a Beer anyone?

I'm gonna be in dc shooting Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and would be into a meetup. I would check out the newseum which is pretty cool. I was there a couple weeks ago shooting with the epic and it's a cool place.

Great I'm in town 6th-9th glad I've found some drinking buddies. My twitter handle is JonnyTheNash and I'll post PM you guys a local Cell number when I get mine sorted.
P.s I found a great place to stay on airbnb dot com . It's my new best friend in terms of booking accommodation whilst I'm traveling. I'm done with the holiday inns and Ramadas of the world. Check it out very cool concept .

DC is one of those cities where what is in the guide books isn't too shabby, if you are into monuments and government. Lincoln Memorial at dusk or early (early!) morning really nice. Lots of excellent free museums all off the mall. and of course, you can visit your congressman's office. You go through security, but no lists or appointments needed to get in the house and senate office buildings.

Renting a bike is a fun thing to do in DC for a few hours. A good way to see all the monuments.

I love DC

I love DC

The best time to experience DC is in August on the beltway, around 5:30 in the afternoon...

Get in touch with my friend Adam Lubkin. A great guy. Friend of Tony's as well...

Thanks buddy. Let me know when you need help in Dubai. ;)

Jon, I'm looking at coming into DC Wednesday with John Saunders. It would be cool to meet up.

Michael P, we still need to talk about getting your lenses on the Epics. Wednesday good for you?

Who knows of a decent drinking/mellow live music spot

Alexandria is close if you have a car or are near a Metro station. In the District, the general "bar" areas are Georgetown, Chinatown, Adam's Morgan, H Street Corridor and Dupont Circle. Where are you staying? Thursday is fine by me. Adam L? John? anybody else??
