  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'll be the first to ask. . . Alchemy etc. update Cs5.5?

Also, I tried the hack on my Windows 7 system and I still can't get audio to work. I have picture but I only hear static.

I verified that the audio is there in-camera, camera playback and RedCine-X - but it's not working with CS5.5 for me. I'll keep digging around the forum...

Mitch, following Maz Mawlawi course of action (#27 of this thread) I was able to have sound working in CS5.5 right away on a window 7 machine. I don't have sound in RedCine-X but that is likely because I don't know what I'm doing there.

Hi David,

#27 of this thread seems to have mixed results based on what other people are saying... Works for some but not all. I followed it to the letter. I'm kind of wondering if someone would post their component files that we're supposed to have as our original files for that #27 hack. If so, I'd greatly appreciate it. Or even to verify the date of those files. For example, the Lightroom 4 files read as 12/21/2011.

You can get RedCine-X for free on the support and download section of red.com. Build 10 of RedCine-X Pro is available in the Beta section of the download page.

If anyone wants some very small Epic files with audio to test this out, I uploaded two 5K clips at this link:

I tested one of your Epic clips with audio and it works on mac. But my Scarlet sound is still just noise. But i get audio in rcx pro and lightroom with scarlet audio. So does Scarlet have another audio setting?
By the way, thanks Mitch for uploading.

Update

I just recorded some new audio test on Scarlet in both 25fps and 23,976 and for some reason the new audio works. But my first recorded audiotest still does not work. Perhaps the new camera firmware fixed something. Great!!

Results so far: after following the instructions, Epic footage gives sound in Premiere, while Scarlet footage still has noise... so there must be something different in the Scarlet files...

(OSX 10.7.3, PP 5.5.2, Scarlet firmware 3.0.0)
