  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is anyone holding on to their quad module?

Just took a look inside the FS section and about every second thread is someone selling their Quad module... I wonder if anyone is going to hang on their own?

I'd personally love to use the quad module if RED released the Red Volt XL's.

If you don't already have another good powering option, you will hang on to the quadmodeule... as long as you don't need d-tap... :)

It looks like a great piece of kit, but valued a bit high and arriving a bit late for the party with slightly expensive batteries to follow.

gives you more functionality for less weight and a price of 599$ vs 2000 ++ $ and no D-tap and constant switching of batteries.

Anyhow.

I like it and haven't made up my mind.

I did not receive it, from the photos I have seen I think I will like it. It is good to have it as a second option in my opinion. We are renting the camera and people like having additional toys. Looks great too for those that like "big" sizes..:) So I think we will keep it and buy a few more redvolts to feed it with. For now we use an Element technica V mount plate on rods with RED Bricks. The products Gunleik suggests are great. No way to go wrong with them. Cheers.

I think the quad module serves a useful purpose when we need to transport our equipment as passengers on a plane, and want to avoid rebooting every 25-30 minutes, so I am getting one module for our three cameras. But I have to agree that the combination of V mount and the side handle for handheld is great as it is.

What our system really is missing now is the i/o module,

I haven't even received my Quad module yet!

But I'll probably sell it when it arrives, along with 2 unused RedVolt batteries and their charger.

Can't see the point of any of them for my use.
I am more than happy with V-locks and a belt-mounted plate.

But each to their own.

The one thing I'm looking forward to with the Quad module isn't the battery options, but the newly added real estate on the camera! The module's got some bolt holes and a nice smooth top, so there will be plenty of room to bolt crap onto it :)
