  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Backorder Update January 13

Where are you at with the Touch LCDs? Got two on order that we need to round out camera packages. The Side Handles/redmotes we can do without for the time being, but the monitor is a must.

yes yes... I mocked it up. I'm trying to turn a myth into reality.
I know straight away every scarlet buyer and 50% of you EPIC owners would order one 3 years in advance.....

But speaking of bugging you, how's the Canon TI mount coming? Curious to see when the TI Canon mount Scarlets will be in the wild.

Is there any chance the next Friday update could be formatted a little differently? I think many would like to know not just when an order placed today for an item would ship, but also that currently the shipping of that item is at orders placed on date X, e.g. thus:


Item -------------------------------Currently shipping items ordered on ---------------------------If ordered today expected to ship on

Module A ------------------------------12/5/11------------------------------------------------------------------ 3/1/12

Accessory B ---------------------------11/20/11 -----------------------------------------------------------------2/12/12

Brilliant, love it! I'm tempted to think Jim will probably name it the Toia module and let you have some sort of goody-bag!
 
With all respect to Toia (and I like the guy), that's just the same thing as the proxy module that was announced almost 2 years ago, but with Prores instead of h.264 (which has been a request since day one) and no wireless capability (which is a huge benefit of the proxy module). The demand for Prores is and has always been clear... it just goes against the "RAW" philosophy of RED, and as such, they're clearly resisting even making it available as an option.

I've always felt like Red thinks they have a better solution in the works, and maybe that's why they've not rushed something out that they will make obsolete in the near future. Nothing concrete, but that's just the vibe I've always gotten by reading between the lines.
