  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

+1 on this. At least we know we can use it in RCX but it would be great to monitor on set using the new settings. Clients like what they see on set but they can’t believe the difference after a couple of tweaks in RCX. I’d like to shoot closer to the finished product.
 
RedGamma3 doesn't affect RedLogFilm does it? Just to be clear this is only for an sRGB workflow right? Also EXRs are always linear so if you export an EXR it wouldn't benefit would it?

Cineform RAW.
That is if you can't keep it R3D.
After all, Premiere does support R3D natively.

The cool thing about Cineform, is that you can actually keep it within the RAW level, or take it to RGB, still with active meta-data, and then move it freely between applications without taking a serious hit in quality.

I have a hypothesis: the reason why people didn't like the look of RED output was not because the technology was poor, but because the colour management was not fully developed. So perhaps no more complaining about 'skin tones'. I think there are reasons to shoot film but colour is not one of them.

If you don't like the Arri rep posting you can just flag the post or bring it to the moderator's attention. I didn't see a problem with it but I guess it comes down to interpreting the forum rules.
