4k Support

[Patrick OMara]

We can all see it coming... Here's some more proof, just incase you had some doubts.

"The market isn’t ready for 4k video, but Radeon™ is. With full support for 3GHz HDMI 1.4a and DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2, the AMD Radeon™ HD 7970 is set for quad HD."

I sense a lot of naysayers deleting old posts. hehe.

Let the 2012 NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION race begin!

8K or bust... ;-)

[Jon Jones]

hmmm, maybe AMD is finally going to make a good product, lol...

[Jarek Zabczynski]

Sooo...can we use one of those cards and connect four HD displays to it and use them as a 4k screen? I believe you can attach six monitors to them.

[Phil Holland]

We'll see sub $8k 4k panels by the end of 2012. Maybe even cheaper.

[Jarek Zabczynski]

Can I hear 4k for $4k?

[John Bannister]

Jarek, yes that is correct. I have 3 1920 X 1080 monitors, using the Eyefinity technology in my card I can turn these into a single monitor with a combined resolution of 5760 X 1080.. If you crossfire two of these cards then you can run 6 monitors at a total res of 5760 X 2160 pics. If your mobo supports more PCI slot, you can add further cards. One of AMDs card models supports six monitors on a single card......X that by say four Pci slots and your up to 24 monitors .....11520 X 8640 pics or just about any configuration...it works seamlessly, I can highly recommend Eyefinty cards.

[Stivan Widick]

I'll wait for nVidia, but good sign nonetheless.

[Jon Jones]

Thats when I will be buying one...

We'll see sub $8k 4k panels by the end of 2012. Maybe even cheaper.
